| SAVE THE DATES!!! August 17-22, 2008 Upper Missouri River, Montana, canoe expedition, with Don Snow, senior lecturer in environmental humanities The Upper Missouri River in Montana is one of the premier canoe trips in the United States. It is part of the National Wild and Scenic River System, and runs for 149 miles through a spectacular canyon carved into the prairie country of central Montana. The Whitman canoeing adventure will cover the most dramatic 108 miles of the Upper Missouri River National Monument. You'll pass by the vistas Lewis & Clark described as "scenes of visionary enchantment," look for the abundant wildlife of the area, and enjoy luxury camping on the banks of this mighty river. With the guides doing the camp chores, you will be able to immerse yourself in the surroundings, enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow Whittie adventurers and hear the stories of the past told by Professor Snow.
