Whitman in the News |
![]() Christine Moritz '84 has established an endowment to honor Suzanne Martin, faculty member and administrator of Whitman from 1978 to 2000 who died in 2004. Dr. Martin served as Associate Dean of Students for 16 years. She taught courses in history and core studies, and was the Director of the College's Museum of Man and Nature in the Northwest. To celebrate Suzanne, and her extraordinary life, Dr. Moritz has established an endowment to fund the Suzanne L. Martin Award for Excellence in Mentoring. This award will be presented annually at Whitman Commencement to a staff or faculty member who, like Suzanne, is a superb mentor and who, through his or her actions, has helped to transform the lives of students. The award has been broadly defined so that anyone, tenure-track or non-tenure track faculty, staff, coaches, or administrators may be recognized for their significant contributions to students' lives. If you would like to support this fund with a gift:
Thank you. |
