Whitman Bookstore Highlights Alumni Authors
William Ashworth, '65, is the author of twelve books, four of which are still in print. William is the winner of the 1999 Oregon Book Award for Literary Nonfiction for his The Left Hand of Eden (Oregon State University Press, 1999) and a Colonial Dames of America award in 1987 for "a notable contribution to the documentation of life in the United States of
America".

His other works in print are:
The Late, Great Lakes (Wayne State University Press, 1987)
Great Lakes Journey (Wayne State University Press, 2000)
and The Wallowas: Coming of Age in the Wilderness (20th anniversary edition published in 1998 by Oregon State University Press).
