| May 22, 2005 marked a transition for many on the Whitman campus. For the
Class of 2005, Commencement represented the end of a shared chapter in their
lives and the beginning of many new adventures. But the larger Whitman
community was also celebrating the end of a very special time in its
history. President Thomas E. Cronin has now overseen his last Whitman graduation ceremony and soon begins his own new and exciting journey. Cathy Grimes of the Walla Walla Union Bulletin spent time with President Cronin in May and captured some of what has made him so special to us. Upon completion of Cronin's Commencement address one alumnus was heard to say quietly, 'Thank you, Tom. We'll miss you'. Read More in the "Hail to the Chief" story...
