January 2011
Dear Alumni and Parents,
As we celebrate and welcome 2011, I extend warm wishes to you for an extraordinary new year — good health, much joy and bountiful rewards in your personal and professional lives.

Thank you for faithfully sharing your time, energy and personal treasures with Whitman and for serving as exceptional ambassadors for our College. Your support has enabled Whitman to become the premier liberal arts college that combines academic excellence with a friendly, unpretentious culture and an engaging campus community. In the years ahead we will continue seeking your help in expanding the financial support needed by students, recruiting and retaining faculty dedicated to excellent teaching, and in strengthening the College's endowment, the cornerstone of Whitman's future.

Whether 2011 is a reunion year for you or not, I hope you will consider visiting campus. Perhaps you will be among the first to enjoy a production in the renovated and remodeled Harper Joy Theatre which will reopen in its new form in the fall.

On behalf of the faculty, staff and students, Happy New Year.

George Bridges
