May 27, 2006 -- Seattle, WA Les Miserables at the 5th Avenue Theatre. Come see "the world's most popular musical" on its last Broadway touring company visit to Seattle with Whitman College alumni and parents. Professor Mary Anne O'Neil will talk on the creation of the musical, the history of its presentation and its relationship to modern French theater, and an overview of its relationship to Hugo's novel. Young Alumni! Contribute to Livewire Deadline for next issue is January 6, 2006 There is still time for any alumni from 1996 to 2005 to contribute a wedding or new baby picture! Fill out the Class Note submission form at www.whitman.edu/alumni/classnotesform.htm, then, email photos to livewire@whitman.edu. Electronically submitted photographs must be at least 300 dpi for a three- by five-inch photo and must include an accurate caption to make it in time for the next issue. You may mail original photos to Livewire, c/o Whitman College Alumni Office, 219 Marcus Street, Walla Walla, WA 99362. If you would like your photos returned to you, please include a note. Don't forget to name everyone in the picture! |

| May 2006, will mark publication of the 19th edition of blue moon, Whitman
College's annual literary arts magazine. Entirely student produced, the
magazine features the work of Whitman students, staff, faculty and alumni.
Submissions: January 31st, 2006 is the submission deadline for the 2006 edition of blue moon. Up to three prose pieces (10 page limit for each piece), four poems, and five pieces of art (including photography and slides or photographs of 3D art) may be submitted. Submissions can be snail-mailed to blue moon, Whitman College, Walla Walla, WA 99362 or emailed as JPEGS for digital pieces and RTF attachments for literary/poetry/prose pieces to bluemoon@whitman.edu. To pre-order a blue moon or make a donation, please contact editors Kelsey Ochs (ochsko@whitman.edu) or Amy Sharp (sharpah@whitman.edu). |

| Assistant Director of Residence Life and Housing The position coordinates Resident Director training in August, RA training in January, and Resident Director Selection. The Assistant Director will also assist with returning student housing and RA staff selection, work with the overall Residence Life programming model and with the Director, supervise the entire Residence Life staff. The Assistant Director needs to have the ability to oversee the operation of office technology in order to enhance the operation of the Residence Life program. Whitman offers its Student Services staff opportunities to grow, develop, and to pursue professional interests. Whitman is a dynamic and exciting place to work and this is a job in which variety is abundant and creativity is encouraged. Read More About It... |
