Check out this site periodically for new photo galleries by our talented in-house and student photographers!

In the printed and online issue, you’ll read about Pete Reid ’49, who at age 85 and after six decades of service to the college is once again attempting retirement.

Project Revere and Whitman College in 1952
    Can you help us?

Were you a student at Whitman College in March 1952? In that year researchers from the University of Washington came to the College and asked over 600 students if they could trade information via a series of 12 cards. The idea of the experiment was to see how quickly information was diffused across the campus within 356 hours. The project was called Revere. We are keen to talk with anyone who remembers this experiment. We are doing research on communications research in the early Cold War. We are based at Royal Holloway, University of London.

    Thank you!
Professor Klaus Dodds and Dr. Al Pinkerton.
