Summer College

You are invited to the Whitman College campus for a week of intellectual challenge, lively discussion and entertaining experiences at Summer College 2003 (formerly Senior Alumni College). Our Summer College offers a glance into the Whitman experience of today with instruction by professors and alumni, a field trip excursion and social events all in the beautiful campus setting. The week begins with an informal gathering Sunday evening, June 15, in Prentiss Hall and concludes Saturday morning, June 21.

Whitman Bookstore Highlights Alumni Authors
This month we highlight the works of Craig Lesley, '67, and Katie Ford, '97, as both will be reading from their works as a part of the Visiting Writers Reading Series.

Craig will appear April 10, at 7:00 p.m.
Katie on April 23, at 7:00 p.m.
Both in the Kimball Theatre of Whitman's Hunter Conservatory.

Craig is Visiting Assistant Professor of English at Whitman, teaching creative writing and literature. His titles include River Song, The Sky Fisherman, Storm Riders, and Winterkill. He has also edited Talking Leaves and Dreamers and Desperadoes: Contemporary Short Fiction of the American West.

Katie currently studies poetry and teaches creative writing at
the University of Iowa. She will read from her book, Deposition.
