March 10-19, 2006

With Dr. Delbert Hutchison, assistant professor of biology
and Dr. Patrick Spencer, professor of geology at Whitman College.

Cost is approximately $3700-6300 per person, double occupancy, plus air fare.
Cruise among the islands with Lindblad Expeditions on small ships and zodiacs, get up close and personal with some of the world's most unusual animals, visit the Darwin Research Station, and see one of the last unspoiled spots on the planet. Snorkel, scuba dive, or view marine life from a glass-bottom boat.

Professor Hutchison http://people.whitman.edu/%7Ehutchidw/ is an evolutionary biologist, and currently teaches population genetics, conservation biology, and evolutionary biology. He has visited the islands twice, as part of a team-taught class with an evolutionary biologist and geologist.

Professor Spencer http://www.whitman.edu/geology/SpencerBio.html teaches sedimentation and paleontology. Since coming to Whitman College in 1984, Pat has been studying late Pleistocene sedimentology, stratigraphy, and paleontology in the southeastern Washington region, collaborating with students on research projects.
