The overwhelming majority of international students will apply to Whitman College under the Regular Decision process. Your complete application must be post-marked no later than January 15 in order to be considered for admission for the coming fall semester. Admission decisions are emailed to international students during the last week of March. Only admitted international students will receive a paper mailing; all other will be notified via email only.
International students can only apply under the Early Decision deadline or for spring admission if they are not applying for financial aid. The majority of international applicants will apply under the Regular Decision deadline. The exception to this rule is for Canadian applicants, who are allowed to apply for Early Decision regardless of their financial need. The Early Decision deadlines are November 15 and January 1.
International transfer students must abide by the same Regular Decision process as first-year international applicants. The deadline for international transfer students to apply for admission is January 15.
All international applicants are encouraged to take any necessary tests (SAT, ACT, TOEFL, or IELTS) by December, at the latest. Taking tests later than that will result in late completion of the application process and can affect admission decisions.
