Living at Whitman
Be sure to fill out your Housing Preferences Questionnaire in your applicant portal. That will help us find you a great room and roommate!
It’s exciting to plan for your first college room! You have plenty of time, but here are some suggestions on what to consider for your move to Whitman.
Depending on how you will be traveling to Whitman, you may have limited space. Our student blogger Ananya Mehrotra ’27, an international student from Lucknow, India, provides some excellent advice on what to prioritize in packing.
When it comes to your room, furniture (bed, desk and chair, wardrobe/dresser) and window blinds are provided. You should bring—or plan to buy when you arrive—bedding, rugs, decorations, plants, posters, a mini fridge and other personal items (maybe even a fish?) to really make your room your own.
