Each semester the Outdoor Program hosts visiting speakers, films, and events. The most current event is listed on each page in "Coming Up", but here's a sampling of Speakers/Events at Whitman!

Spring 2013

Sweet Onion Crank Climbing Festival - April 27th

Spring Used Gear Sale - same day as the Sweet Onion Crank (Saturday April 27th) on Boyer Avenue during the Renaissance Fair 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Febraury 26th, 7:00 p.m. in Olin 130: Brien Sheedy gives a multimedia presentation on his expedition over 2012-2013 winter break to Antarctica (he reached the south pole)!

Winter 2013

Wilderness First Responder and Recertification Courses:
January 4-13, 2013: 2 WFR courses
February 16-18, 2013: WFR Recert course
February (Date to be Determined): Brien Sheedy will give a presentation about his January trip to Antarctica!
March 9-18, 2013: WFR course

Banff Film Festival 
Tuesday, January 22th 2012 on Whitman Campus at Cordiner Hall
Doors open 6:30 Program starts at 7:00 pm
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids 17 and under, and FREE for Whitman faculty, staff, and students with valid ID

Tickets will be available for purchase starting January 17th at the Whitman book store and the Outdoor Program Rental Shop in the Reid Campus Center building at the corner of Park St. and Boyer Ave. 

Lots of great RAFFLE PRIZES will be given away during Intermission including gift certificates and merchandise from local merchants including Bicycle Barn, Allegro Cyclery, Dusty's Ski Shop, The Garden Vegan Cafe, and Graze: A Place to Eat
