Amy Molitor was born and raised in Massachusetts. Childhood excursions to the mountains of New England, the Sierra Nevadas and the Pacific Northwest led her to pursue an education in outdoor recreation at the University of Idaho. After a brief stint as an environmental consultant in the desert southwest, she returned to the cool forests and mountains of the north and worked towards her M.S. and Ph.D. at the University of Montana. Her dissertation focused on developing and identifying effective persuasive communication techniques for utilization in educational efforts designed to promote safe travel in occupied grizzly bear habitat.
