  • Tekisuijuku

    Established in the Fall Semester of 1985, the Tekisuijuku serves as the center for Japanese studies on the Whitman College campus, and as a home for students interested in speaking Japanese and learning more about Japanese culture.

  • Chikurakken (Tea Room)

    The East Wing of Olin Hall has become the home for Whitman College's new Japanese language classroom that includes a special space for the practice and performance of the art of serving tea.

  • Carlstrom Award

    Each year, the Connie Jill Carlstrom Endowed Award in Japanese Studies is presented to a promising student of Japanese language and culture who shows great interest in pursuing a career or graduate studies in some aspect of relations between Japan and the United States.
