Johnston Wilderness Campus
The Stuart and Joyce Johnston Wilderness Campus of Whitman College is located on upper Mill Creek in Oregon, approximately twenty-five miles southeast of the Whitman College main campus (latitude -- 45 degrees, 59' N; longitude -- 118 degrees, 4' W; UTM: 5093 N, 417 E; Section 21, T6N, R38E; Elevation 2320' = 707 m (above mean sea level)).
The 26-acre area includes a main lodge, three residences, and several other buildings (summer pictures of JWC) (winter pictures of JWC). This property was generously donated by Stuart and Joyce Johnston, '60, in 1998. A principal use of the campus is environmental projects and retreats.
